What is Paintball?

Paintball is amongst the fastest growing sports in the world. Each player is given a protective suit, special paintball googles and a paintball gun. The paintball gun uses high pressure air to shoot a small paintbal filled pellet..

Special Ops Paintball is situated just outside the town of Borris, Co. Carlow. More detailed directions are available here

Does Paintball Hurt?

The paintballs fired from the paintball gun burst on impact. Due to the fun nature of the sport people sometimes don’t even noticed they are hit! However it depends on where you are struck by the pellet. Many people would describe it as a strong pinch.

Is Paintball Safe?

Yes. Special Ops Paintball briefs all players in advance of the games on safety aspects. These are rules that our marshals enforce. Failure to follow these rules or endangering the safety of the game is met with player removal from the game.

What Is The Minimum Age Requirement?

You must be over 16 years of age to play paintball. We always ensure groups are placed with groups of a similar age and playing experience

What clothing should I wear?

It is recommended to wear clothing suitable for the outdoors. You will be provided with overalls but we recommend to wear clothes that are suitable for getting dirty. Sturdy footwear is a must. Be aware of the weather as paintball is an all weather sport.

Does Special Ops have changing facilities?

Yes. We have limited changing facilities.

Can I wear glasses? 

Glasses can be worn under the paintball googles. However if they are non-essential we suggest trying to play without them. If you can wear contact lens, we would recommend playing with them

How long does a day last?

We typically start at 10am and finish at 3.30pm. This however is reliant on how many games a group wishes to play.

Are all games monitored?

Yes. All games have at least two trained marshals in attendance. I cannot attend a booking.
